This broad workload coverage makes the 7526A particularly useful in laboratories serving industrial process measurement applications.

DC Voltage Output up to 100 V

The Fluke Calibration 7526A provides four DC voltage source ranges:

  • 0 to 100 mV
  • 0 to 1 V
  • 0 to 10 V
  • 0 to 100 V

The one-year absolute uncertainty is specified as:

±(30 ppm of output + range-dependent offset)

Resolution extends down to:

1 µV

on the 100 mV range.

The 100 V range provides:

1 mV resolution

This voltage capability supports calibration of many process indicators, data loggers, multimeters and other electrical measuring instruments.

Isolated DC Voltage Measurement

In addition to sourcing voltage, the 7526A provides an isolated voltage measurement input.

Two ranges are available:

0 to 10 V

and:

10 to 100 V

The isolated input is particularly useful when a signal must be measured while another calibration signal is being generated.

This makes the 7526A well suited to transmitter and process instrumentation calibration.

DC Current Output up to 100 mA

The Fluke Calibration 7526A provides DC current output from:

0 to 100 mA

with a resolution of:

1 µA

The one-year absolute uncertainty is specified as:

±(50 ppm of reading + 1 µA)

under the applicable operating conditions.

This range covers standard industrial current signals as well as many current measurement ranges on process instrumentation.

Isolated Current Measurement

The isolated input can measure DC current from:

0 to 50 mA

with a resolution of:

0.1 µA

This range comfortably covers the standard industrial:

process signal.

The isolated measurement input can be used together with the source functions, providing considerable flexibility during transmitter calibration.

Integrated 24 V Loop Power

An important feature of the Fluke Calibration 7526A is its integrated transmitter loop supply.

The calibrator provides:

24 V DC ±10 %

loop power.

At the same time, it can measure loop current from:

0 to 24 mA

with:

0.1 µA resolution

This enables a two-wire process transmitter to be powered directly by the calibrator while its output current is measured.

The integrated loop supply eliminates the need for a separate external 24 V DC power supply in many calibration setups.

Integrated HART Resistor

The loop power circuit includes a:

250 Ω ±3 % HART resistor

This simplifies connection of HART communication equipment to compatible transmitters.

The combination of loop power, current measurement and the integrated resistor makes the 7526A particularly suitable for process transmitter calibration.

Resistance Output

The Fluke Calibration 7526A provides precision resistance simulation for RTD and resistance-based instrumentation.

The resistance source ranges extend from:

5 Ω to 400 Ω

and:

5 Ω to 4 kΩ

On the 5 Ω to 400 Ω range, the one-year absolute uncertainty is specified at:

±0.015 Ω

with:

0.001 Ω resolution

The 5 Ω to 4 kΩ range provides:

0.01 Ω resolution

This resistance simulation capability is essential for calibration of RTD indicators and temperature transmitters.

Resistance Measurement

The 7526A can also directly measure resistance.

Measurement ranges are:

0 to 400 Ω

and:

0 to 4 kΩ

Resolution is:

0.001 Ω

on the 400 Ω range and:

0.01 Ω

on the 4 kΩ range.

This enables the calibrator to work directly with resistance thermometers and other resistive devices.

Thermocouple Source and Measurement

The Fluke Calibration 7526A provides comprehensive thermocouple simulation and measurement.

Supported thermocouple types include:

  • B
  • C
  • E
  • J
  • K
  • L
  • N
  • R
  • S
  • T
  • U
  • XK
  • BP

The electrical thermocouple input and output range extends from:

−10 mV to +75 mV

with:

1 µV resolution

This broad thermocouple capability enables calibration of many different temperature indicators, transmitters, recorders, data loggers and process controllers.

Thermocouple Temperature Ranges

The available temperature range depends on the selected thermocouple type.

Examples include:

Type J: −210 °C to +1200 °C

Type K: −250 °C to +1372 °C

Type S: −50 °C to +1767 °C

Type T: −250 °C to +400 °C

The best one-year temperature uncertainty depends on thermocouple type and temperature.

For example, Fluke specifies best values of approximately:

±0.09 °C for Type J

and:

±0.10 °C for Type K

within their applicable ranges.

RTD Source and Measurement

The Fluke Calibration 7526A supports a comprehensive selection of resistance temperature detectors.

Supported RTD characteristics include:

  • Pt100 (385)
  • Pt100 (3926)
  • Pt100 (3916)
  • Pt200
  • Pt500
  • Pt1000
  • Ni120
  • Cu427
  • SPRT
  • YSI 400 thermistor

This broad selection enables calibration of both industrial temperature instrumentation and precision laboratory equipment.

Pt100 Simulation

For a Pt100 with an alpha characteristic of 0.00385, the 7526A supports temperature simulation from:

−200 °C to +800 °C

Fluke specifies best one-year output uncertainty down to approximately:

±0.05 °C

depending on temperature and operating conditions.

RTD simulation enables an indicator or transmitter to be calibrated electrically without placing a physical sensor into a temperature source.

Pt100 Measurement

The Fluke Calibration 7526A also provides high-performance Pt100 measurement.

For a Pt100 (385), Fluke specifies one-year absolute uncertainties of approximately:

±0.020 °C from −80 °C to +100 °C

±0.024 °C from +100 °C to +300 °C

and:

±0.038 °C from +300 °C to +800 °C

under the specified calibration temperature conditions.

This measurement capability makes the 7526A suitable for precision temperature laboratory applications.

SPRT Support

The 7526A supports Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers.

SPRT temperature capability extends approximately from:

−200 °C to +660 °C

The user interface allows RTD and SPRT coefficients to be entered directly into the calibrator.

Individual coefficients enable the resistance thermometer’s specific calibration characteristics to be used rather than relying only on a generic standard curve.

This is especially useful when calibrated reference thermometers are used.

Thermistor Support

The Fluke Calibration 7526A also supports the widely used:

YSI 400 thermistor

over the range:

15 °C to 50 °C

Fluke specifies one-year uncertainty down to:

±0.007 °C

for suitable YSI 400 applications.

This adds further flexibility for temperature instrumentation calibration.

Simultaneous Source and Measurement

The 7526A includes two LCD displays.

This allows source and measurement values to be viewed simultaneously.

For example, the calibrator can generate a temperature sensor simulation while measuring the resulting electrical output of a transmitter.

This is particularly useful for process transmitter calibration because both the input simulation and output signal can be monitored from the same instrument.

Calibration of Temperature Transmitters

The Fluke Calibration 7526A is particularly well suited to temperature transmitter calibration.

For an RTD transmitter, the calibrator can simulate the resistance corresponding to a specified temperature.

At the same time, the isolated measurement input can measure the transmitter’s 4–20 mA output.

The integrated 24 V loop supply can power the transmitter.

A complete electrical transmitter calibration can therefore be performed using a single benchtop instrument.

Thermocouple Transmitter Calibration

Thermocouple transmitters can be tested in a similar manner.

The 7526A generates the millivolt signal corresponding to the selected thermocouple type and temperature.

The transmitter converts this input into its process output, typically:

4–20 mA

The isolated current input measures this output while the integrated loop supply can power the transmitter.

This provides an efficient solution for multipoint transmitter calibration.

Complete Sensor and Transmitter Calibration

Electrical simulation verifies the electronic portion of a temperature measurement system.

For complete system calibration, the actual temperature sensor must also be considered.

The 7526A can be combined with a temperature source such as a Fluke Calibration 914X Field Metrology Well.

The physical RTD or thermocouple is inserted into the temperature source while the 7526A measures the sensor or transmitter output.

This allows the complete measurement chain to be calibrated.

Pressure Measurement with Fluke Pressure Modules

The Fluke Calibration 7526A can also be used for pressure calibration when combined with compatible external pressure modules.

Fluke specifically supports:

  • 700P Series pressure modules
  • 750P Series pressure modules

The pressure module provides the reference pressure measurement while a suitable pressure source generates the required test pressure.

This expands the 7526A from a temperature and electrical calibrator into a comprehensive process calibration workstation.

Pressure Generation

The 7526A itself does not generate pressure.

Pressure can be generated using suitable comparison test pumps and pressure sources.

Fluke lists systems such as:

  • P5510 for vacuum and pneumatic pressure up to 300 psi
  • P5513 for pneumatic pressure control up to 3,000 psi
  • P5514 for hydraulic pressure generation up to 10,000 psi
  • P5515 for hydraulic pressure generation up to 20,000 psi

The actual measurement capability depends on the pressure module used with the 7526A.

Nine Programmable Setpoints

The Fluke Calibration 7526A can store and recall up to:

nine setpoints

for each input or output parameter.

Frequently used calibration points can therefore be stored directly in the instrument.

This is useful for repetitive calibration procedures involving common points such as:

  • 0 %
  • 25 %
  • 50 %
  • 75 %
  • 100 %

Stored setpoints reduce manual entry and improve efficiency during routine calibrations.

Intuitive User Interface

The front-panel interface combines:

  • Cursor controls
  • Function keys
  • Numeric keypad
  • Dual LCD displays

The menu structure allows the operator to select functions, enter setpoints, configure temperature sensors and manage calibration parameters directly from the front panel.

The dual displays provide a clear overview of source and measurement functions.

Automated Calibration with MET/CAL

The Fluke Calibration 7526A can be integrated with Fluke Calibration MET/CAL software.

MET/CAL enables automated calibration procedures and can control the 7526A remotely.

Automation can improve:

  • Calibration throughput
  • Procedure consistency
  • Data collection
  • Result documentation
  • Operator efficiency

This makes the 7526A particularly suitable for laboratories with repetitive process instrumentation workloads.

RS-232 and GPIB Interfaces

The 7526A includes standard computer interfaces:

RS-232

and:

IEEE-488 / GPIB

A USB-to-serial adapter cable is also supplied with the calibrator.

These interfaces allow the instrument to be integrated into existing and modern automated calibration systems.

GPIB support is particularly useful in established laboratory systems containing other automated calibration standards.
