The Additel ADT 673 is available with several accuracy options depending on the selected pressure range.

The ADT673-02 provides accuracy of:

0.02% of full span

while the ADT673-05 provides:

0.05% of full span.

Additel also offers the ADT673-RD specification.

For this version, accuracy is specified as:

0 to 20% of range: 0.02% FS

and:

20 to 110% of range: 0.1% of reading.

The availability of different accuracy classes allows the ADT 673 to be configured according to the actual calibration requirement.

Fully Temperature Compensated

Pressure sensor performance can be influenced by ambient temperature.

The Additel ADT 673 is therefore fully temperature compensated over the range:

-10 °C to 50 °C.

This broad compensated temperature range is particularly valuable for field calibration.

Pressure measurements can therefore be performed under changing environmental conditions while maintaining the specified measurement performance.

The operating temperature range is also -10 °C to 50 °C, while the storage temperature range extends from -30 °C to 70 °C.

Gauge Pressure Measurement

The Additel ADT 673 provides a broad selection of gauge pressure ranges.

Depending on the selected range, the pressure medium can be gas or liquid.

At pressures above 1,000 psi, the corresponding configurations use sealed gauge pressure measurement.

Gauge pressure applications include:

  • Pressure gauge calibration
  • Pressure transmitter calibration
  • Pressure sensor testing
  • Pressure switch testing
  • Hydraulic pressure measurement
  • Pneumatic pressure measurement
  • Process pressure monitoring

Compound Pressure Measurement

Compound pressure versions of the Additel ADT 673 combine negative and positive gauge pressure measurement within one instrument.

Available compound ranges extend from vacuum into positive pressure ranges.

This is particularly useful when calibrating devices that operate on both sides of atmospheric pressure.

Typical applications include:

  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Process transmitters
  • Vacuum and pressure sensors
  • Industrial process instrumentation

The use of one compound pressure calibrator can reduce the need to switch between separate vacuum and positive pressure reference instruments.

Differential Pressure Measurement

The ADT 673 is also available in dedicated differential pressure configurations.

Differential ranges extend from very low pressure differences upward.

Depending on the selected range, accuracy is available down to:

0.02% FS.

Typical differential pressure applications include:

  • Differential pressure transmitters

This expands the ADT 673 beyond conventional gauge pressure calibration.

Built-in Barometer

Every Additel ADT 673 includes a built-in barometric pressure sensor.

The standard built-in barometer provides an accuracy specification of:

55 Pa.

The integrated barometer enables additional pressure measurement functions and allows the instrument to provide gauge or absolute pressure measurement depending on its configuration.

This capability eliminates the need for a separate external barometer in many field calibration applications.

Electrical Measurement

The Additel ADT 673 is more than a digital pressure reference.

It also provides integrated electrical measurement functions for process calibration.

The instrument can measure DC voltage up to:

±30.0000 V

with a specified accuracy of:

±(0.01% of reading + 1.5 mV).

DC current can be measured up to:

±30.0000 mA

with a specified accuracy of:

±(0.01% of reading + 1.5 µA).

These capabilities make the ADT 673 particularly suitable for pressure transmitter calibration.

24 V Loop Power

The Additel ADT 673 provides built-in:

24 V loop power.

The output is specified as:

24 V ±1 V

with a maximum current of:

30 mA.

This allows the calibrator to power many common industrial pressure transmitters directly during calibration.

A separate external loop power supply is therefore unnecessary for many field calibration tasks.

Pressure Transmitter Calibration

The combination of pressure measurement, current measurement and 24 V loop power makes the Additel ADT 673 an effective pressure transmitter calibrator.

A typical calibration configuration consists of:

Pressure source → Additel ADT 673 → Pressure transmitter

The internal pressure sensor measures the applied reference pressure.

At the same time, the ADT 673 can measure the transmitter’s electrical output.

For a conventional industrial transmitter, this is commonly:

4 to 20 mA.

The calibrator can also provide the required 24 V loop power.

This allows the pressure input and electrical transmitter output to be compared using one portable instrument.

Optional HART Field Communicator

For intelligent process transmitters, the Additel ADT 673 can be equipped with an optional full HART field communicator.

This enables communication with HART-compatible transmitters directly from the pressure calibrator.

The combination of precise pressure measurement, electrical measurement, loop power and HART communication creates a powerful tool for commissioning, maintenance and calibration of smart pressure transmitters.

Typical HART applications include:

  • Transmitter configuration
  • Process variable monitoring
  • Device diagnostics
  • Calibration
  • Field maintenance

Pressure Switch Testing

The Additel ADT 673 also supports pressure switch testing.

The electrical input can detect:

OPEN/CLOSED

switch states.

Both mechanical switches and NPN/PNP digital switches are supported.

Pressure can be increased until the switch changes state and then decreased until the switch resets.

This allows determination of:

  • Switching pressure
  • Reset pressure
  • Switching hysteresis

The function is particularly useful for commissioning and preventive maintenance.

3.4-Inch Color Touchscreen

The Additel ADT 673 uses a modern:

3.4-inch capacitive color touchscreen.

The display is protected by a replaceable tempered-glass screen protector.

The smartphone-like operating concept provides quick access to pressure measurements, electrical functions, configuration settings and stored data.

This modern interface replaces the traditional button-heavy operation found on many conventional pressure calibrators.

Adjustable Resolution

The displayed pressure resolution can be configured by the user.

Available settings include:

4 digits

5 digits

or:

6 digits.

The display update rate can also be adjusted.

The default rate is three readings per second, while settings from:

10 readings per second

to:

one reading every 20 seconds

are available.

This enables the display behavior to be adapted to dynamic or stable pressure applications.

Comprehensive Data Logging

The Additel ADT 673 includes extensive onboard data logging.

The instrument provides:

8 GB internal storage

with capacity for:

more than 100 million records.
