High Accuracy Pressure Measurement

The Additel ADT 686 is designed for applications where a conventional industrial pressure gauge does not provide sufficient measurement performance.

Depending on the selected pressure range and version, Additel offers different accuracy specifications.

The ADT686-02 provides accuracy down to:

0.02% FS

while the ADT686-05 provides:

0.05% FS.

Additel also offers reading-based configurations for selected pressure ranges. The ADT686-RD specification combines 0.02% FS in the lower part of the range with 0.1% of reading over a large portion of the measuring range.

The exact accuracy specification therefore depends on the selected pressure range and model.

This range-dependent concept allows the appropriate ADT 686 configuration to be selected according to the required measurement range and accuracy.

Wide Pressure Range up to 4,200 bar

The Additel ADT 686 product family covers an exceptionally broad pressure range.

Available configurations extend from low and differential pressure applications through conventional pneumatic and hydraulic ranges to high-pressure measurement up to:

60,000 psi / 4,200 bar.

This makes the instrument suitable for applications ranging from process pressure measurement to demanding hydraulic high-pressure calibration.

For high-pressure applications, all pressure connections, tubing, adapters, valves and other components of the measurement system must be rated appropriately for the maximum applied pressure.

Different pressure ranges are available so that users can select an instrument that closely matches the pressure range of the device under test.

Gauge, Absolute and Barometric Pressure

A major advantage of the Additel ADT 686 is its integrated barometric pressure sensor.

The built-in barometer provides additional flexibility and allows compatible versions of the instrument to display both:

Gauge pressure

and:

Absolute pressure.

The pressure type can be selected through the instrument interface.

The integrated barometric sensor can also be used to display atmospheric pressure.

This provides additional functionality without requiring a separate external barometer for many applications.

For calibration laboratories working with different pressure reference systems, this capability can significantly simplify the measurement setup.

Compound and Differential Pressure Measurement

In addition to gauge pressure configurations, the Additel ADT 686 family includes compound and differential pressure versions.

Compound pressure configurations combine negative and positive gauge pressure within one measuring range.

They are particularly useful for:

  • Vacuum and pressure measurement
  • Process instrumentation
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Pressure transmitter testing
  • Pump applications

Dedicated differential pressure configurations are available for applications such as:

  • Differential pressure transmitter calibration
  • Filter monitoring
  • Flow measurement
  • HVAC measurement
  • Low-pressure calibration
  • Process measurement

This broad selection makes the ADT 686 considerably more versatile than a conventional digital pressure gauge.

Comprehensive Temperature Compensation

Pressure sensor performance is influenced by temperature. For this reason, the Additel ADT 686 uses comprehensive temperature compensation.

The specified pressure measurement performance is temperature compensated over:

-10 °C to 50 °C.

This broad temperature range is particularly valuable for field applications where environmental conditions can differ considerably from those in a temperature-controlled calibration laboratory.

The combination of high-quality pressure sensors and comprehensive temperature compensation contributes to reliable measurement results under changing environmental conditions.

Modern 3.4-Inch Color Touchscreen

The Additel ADT 686 features a modern:

3.4-inch capacitive color touchscreen.

The smartphone-like user interface provides intuitive access to measurement values, instrument settings, pressure units, data logging and communication functions.

Users can select a pressure display resolution of:

4 digits

5 digits

or:

6 digits.

The display can therefore be adapted to the required measurement task.

A replaceable tempered-glass screen protector helps protect the display during demanding field and laboratory use.

Flexible Measurement Rate

The measurement update rate of the Additel ADT 686 can be adapted to different applications.

The standard display rate is approximately:

3 readings per second.

Depending on the application, the measurement rate can be configured from fast measurements up to:

10 readings per second

or reduced to:

1 reading every 20 seconds.

A faster update rate is useful when monitoring dynamic pressure changes, while slower settings can provide a stable display for slowly changing pressure conditions.

Multiple Pressure Units

The Additel ADT 686 supports an extensive selection of pressure units.

Available units include common international units such as:

  • Pa
  • kPa
  • MPa
  • psi
  • bar
  • mbar
  • kgf/cm²
  • inH₂O
  • mmH₂O
  • inHg
  • mmHg

In addition, the instrument provides up to five customizable units.

This allows the digital pressure gauge to be adapted to specialized applications and different international measurement requirements.

Extensive Data Logging

For applications requiring pressure recording, the Additel ADT 686 is available with optional data logging.

The logging option provides:

8 GB internal storage

with capacity for more than:

100 million records.

Automatic logging intervals can be configured over a broad time range.

This makes the ADT 686 suitable not only for individual pressure measurements but also for:

  • Long-term pressure monitoring
  • Pressure stability testing
  • Leak testing
  • Test bench documentation
  • Process monitoring
  • Research and development
  • Pressure system analysis

The large internal memory enables extensive measurement sequences to be stored without requiring continuous connection to a computer.

Bluetooth and USB Communication

The Additel ADT 686 includes modern communication interfaces as standard.

Bluetooth provides wireless communication with compatible devices and supports remote interaction with the pressure gauge.

The instrument also includes:

USB Type-C.

This provides a convenient wired interface for communication and data handling.

The combination of Bluetooth and USB makes the ADT 686 suitable for both conventional standalone measurement and modern digitally connected calibration workflows.

Additel Link

The Additel ADT 686 supports communication with Additel Link.

This provides additional possibilities for interacting with the instrument and measurement data using compatible systems.

Wireless communication is particularly useful when the pressure gauge is installed in a test setup where direct observation is inconvenient.

The instrument can remain connected to the pressure system while measurement information is accessed remotely.

Optional Wi-Fi and RS232

Depending on the selected configuration, additional communication options are available for the Additel ADT 686.

These include:

Wi-Fi

or:

RS232.

Wi-Fi provides additional possibilities for network-connected measurement environments.

RS232 is particularly useful for existing calibration laboratories and automated test systems where this established interface is already integrated into the measurement infrastructure.

The availability of multiple communication technologies makes the ADT 686 suitable for both new installations and existing calibration systems.

Robust Design for Field and Laboratory Use

The Additel ADT 686 is designed for professional use under demanding conditions.

Its enclosure is manufactured from:

304 stainless steel.

Pressure-wetted components use stainless steel, with the exact wetted materials depending on the selected pressure range and configuration.

The rugged construction is complemented by:
