Additel ADT 927 is a powerful hydraulic pressure test pump designed for professional pressure calibration from 85% vacuum to 10,000 psi / 700 bar. The manually operated pump combines high-pressure capability with patented screw press technology, smooth pressure adjustment, extremely low leakage and convenient hand-tight quick connectors. This makes the Additel ADT 927 an ideal pressure source for calibrating pressure gauges, pressure transmitters, pressure sensors, pressure switches and other pressure measuring instruments in the laboratory or in the field.

The standard Additel ADT 927 uses oil as its hydraulic pressure medium. For applications where oil must be avoided, the Additel ADT 927W is available for use with deionized water. This allows the appropriate version to be selected according to the requirements of the device under test and the calibration process.

A major advantage of the ADT 927 is its patented screw press technology. The design eliminates the conventional non-returning check valve that can cause leakage and maintenance problems in traditional hand pumps. High pressures can therefore be generated, increased and decreased smoothly while maintaining excellent control.

Two hand-tight quick connectors allow the reference pressure instrument and device under test to be connected directly to the pump. Compatible instruments can be installed and removed without conventional wrenches or PTFE tape.

Hydraulic Pressure Generation up to 700 bar

The Additel ADT 927 provides an exceptionally broad hydraulic pressure range from:

85% vacuum

to:

10,000 psi / 700 bar positive pressure.

This enables the same manual pressure source to cover vacuum, low-pressure and demanding hydraulic high-pressure calibration applications.

Typical devices under test include:

  • Analog pressure gauges
  • Digital pressure gauges
  • Hydraulic pressure gauges
  • Vacuum gauges
  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Pressure sensors
  • Pressure switches
  • Pressure indicators
  • Industrial process instruments

The maximum pressure of 700 bar covers a large proportion of industrial hydraulic pressure measurement applications.

Patented Screw Press Technology

One of the most important features of the Additel ADT 927 is its patented screw press technology.

Traditional hydraulic hand pumps frequently incorporate non-returning check valves as part of the pressure generation mechanism. These valves can become a source of leakage and may increase maintenance requirements.

The Additel design eliminates this conventional check valve.

This provides several practical advantages:

  • Extremely low leakage
  • Smooth pressure generation
  • Controlled pressure increase
  • Controlled pressure decrease
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Improved pressure stability
  • Straightforward operation

This design makes the ADT 927 particularly suitable for professional comparison calibration.

Two-Stage Pressure Generation

The Additel ADT 927 uses two piston stages for efficient pressure generation and precise high-pressure control.

The low-pressure piston provides a volume of:

19 ml.

The high-pressure piston provides a volume of:

0.9 ml.

The larger low-pressure piston allows the hydraulic system to be filled and pre-pressurized efficiently.

The high-pressure piston is then used to generate and control pressures up to the maximum operating pressure of 700 bar.

This combination provides efficient pressure generation without sacrificing precise control at high pressure.

Smooth Pressure Adjustment

Precise pressure adjustment is essential when comparing a device under test with a traceable reference instrument.

The Additel ADT 927 allows pressure to be increased and decreased smoothly using its screw press mechanism.

This is particularly useful when calibrating:

  • High-resolution digital pressure gauges
  • Precision pressure indicators
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Pressure sensors
  • Pressure switches

The operator can approach individual calibration points in a controlled manner and allow the system to stabilize before recording measurement values.

Extremely Low Leakage

Internal leakage can make stable high-pressure calibration difficult.

The patented screw press design of the Additel ADT 927 eliminates the conventional check valve commonly used in many hand pumps.

By removing this potential leakage source, the pump is designed to provide extremely low leakage and minimal maintenance.

Stable pressure is particularly important during comparison calibration because both the reference instrument and device under test should be exposed to the same stable pressure before measurement values are recorded.

Oil as Standard Pressure Medium

The standard Additel ADT 927 is designed for hydraulic operation with oil.

The current Additel configuration includes mineral oil when the water version is not ordered.

Hydraulic pressure generation provides significant advantages at high pressures because liquids are substantially less compressible than gases.

This makes it possible to generate and control pressures up to 700 bar efficiently with a relatively compact manual pump.

Clean pressure medium should always be used to prevent contamination of the pump and connected pressure instruments.

Additel ADT 927W for Deionized Water

For applications where oil contamination must be avoided, Additel offers the:

Additel ADT 927W.

The ADT 927W is configured for operation with:

deionized water.

This version can be particularly useful for pressure instruments or processes where oil is not permitted.

The correct version should always be selected according to the permissible pressure medium of the device under test.

Vacuum Generation up to 85%

Although the Additel ADT 927 is primarily designed as a hydraulic high-pressure pump, its working range also extends into vacuum.

The pump can generate up to:

85% vacuum.

This extends its application range to instruments such as:

  • Vacuum gauges
  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Vacuum transmitters
  • Pressure sensors
  • Vacuum indicators

The combination of vacuum generation and positive pressure up to 700 bar provides exceptional flexibility for a portable hydraulic calibration pump.

Hand-Tight Quick Connectors

The Additel ADT 927 incorporates two hand-tight quick connectors.

One connection is intended for the:

reference pressure instrument

and the second for the:

device under test.

Compatible pressure instruments can be connected and disconnected without conventional wrenches or PTFE tape.

This simplifies the setup process and can significantly reduce the time required when several devices are calibrated consecutively.

Multiple Pressure Connection Options

The Additel ADT 927 is available with several pressure connection configurations.

Available options include:

  • 1/4 NPT female
  • 1/2 NPT female
  • 1/4 BSP female
  • 1/2 BSP female
  • M20 × 1.5 female

This provides compatibility with common international pressure connection standards.

Additional Additel adapter and fitting sets are available for instruments with other pressure connections.

Professional Comparison Calibration

The Additel ADT 927 is designed as a professional comparison pressure test pump.

A typical calibration setup consists of:

Additel ADT 927 + Reference Pressure Instrument + Device Under Test

The reference instrument and device under test are connected simultaneously to the two pressure ports.

The pump generates the required hydraulic pressure.

The operator then adjusts the pressure to the required calibration point.

After sufficient stabilization, the indication of the device under test is compared with the traceable reference value.

The procedure can be repeated at several increasing and decreasing pressure points according to the applicable calibration procedure.

Pressure Gauge Calibration

The Additel ADT 927 is particularly suitable for pressure gauge calibration.

Typical devices include:

  • Mechanical pressure gauges
  • Digital pressure gauges
  • Hydraulic pressure gauges
  • Vacuum gauges
  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Precision pressure indicators

The ADT 927 provides the pressure source but does not itself provide the traceable reference pressure value.

For professional calibration, the pump is therefore combined with a suitable reference pressure instrument.

The achievable measurement uncertainty depends on the reference standard, pressure stability, environmental conditions, calibration procedure and other contributions included in the measurement uncertainty budget.

Pressure Transmitter Calibration

The Additel ADT 927 can also provide the hydraulic pressure source required for pressure transmitter calibration.

A suitable reference pressure instrument measures the applied pressure while the electrical output of the transmitter is measured using a process calibrator or precision multimeter.

For many industrial pressure transmitters, the standard output signal is:

4 to 20 mA.

Several increasing and decreasing pressure points can be generated to evaluate the relationship between applied pressure and electrical output.

Pressure Switch Testing

The Additel ADT 927 can also be used as the pressure source for pressure switch testing.

Pressure is gradually increased until the switch changes state.

The pressure can then be reduced until the switch resets.

Combined with an appropriate reference pressure instrument and electrical switch detector, this allows determination of:

  • Switching pressure
  • Reset pressure
  • Switching hysteresis

The smooth pressure control provided by the screw press mechanism is particularly useful when approaching switching points.

Compact Design for 700 bar

Despite its maximum positive pressure of 700 bar, the Additel ADT 927 remains relatively compact.

The dimensions are approximately:

290 × 198 mm base

and:

135 mm height.

The weight is only approximately:

7 lb / 3.2 kg.

This combination of high pressure capability and portability makes the ADT 927 suitable for both laboratory and field applications.

No electrical power is required, making the pump independent of mains power or batteries.

Robust Construction

The Additel ADT 927 is designed for professional pressure calibration.

The ram and adapters are manufactured from:

stainless steel.

The body combines:

stainless steel and aluminum.

The sealing system uses materials suitable for hydraulic pressure generation.

The robust construction supports reliable operation in calibration laboratories, workshops and field service applications.
