Fluke 700P Versatile Pressure Module

Fluke 700P is a versatile pressure module series for compatible Fluke process and pressure calibrators. The modular family covers differential, gauge, absolute, vacuum and high-pressure applications from approximately 2.5 mbar to 700 bar / 10,000 psi. Digital communication, internal temperature compensation and rugged construction make the 700P ideal for pressure transmitter, sensor and process calibration in field and laboratory applications.

Fluke 700P is a versatile pressure module series designed to extend the pressure measurement capabilities of compatible Fluke process and pressure calibrators. The modular concept allows users to select the pressure range and pressure type required for a specific calibration task instead of relying on a single fixed internal sensor. Depending on the selected module, the Fluke 700P family covers differential, gauge, absolute, vacuum and dual-range pressure measurements, with ranges extending from very low differential pressure up to 10,000 psi / approximately 700 bar. Fluke documentation specifies 29 pressure modules for compatible handheld calibrators. Fluke

The pressure modules communicate digitally with the connected calibrator, avoiding the additional analog conversion errors that could occur with an external analog pressure transducer. This makes the Fluke 700P particularly useful for mobile pressure calibration, process instrumentation, pressure transmitter testing and laboratory applications where several pressure ranges must be covered with one calibrator platform. europascal.de

Depending on the individual 700P model, reference uncertainty can reach approximately 0.025% of full scale in many common ranges, while individual low-pressure modules have different specifications. For example, the 700P23 wet differential pressure module is specified with 0.025% reference uncertainty and 0.050% total one-year uncertainty, while the very low-range 700P00 has correspondingly higher uncertainty due to its extremely small measuring span. Fluke

The modules incorporate internal temperature compensation over 0 °C to 50 °C, helping maintain measurement performance across typical field and laboratory operating conditions. Rugged molded housings protect the pressure modules against the mechanical demands of portable calibration work. Fluke

At europascal, Fluke pressure modules can be combined with suitable process calibrators, pressure pumps and pressure generation equipment to create complete calibration solutions. For professional metrological traceability, use the europascal Calibration Service.

Wide Pressure Range from Low Pressure to 700 bar

A major advantage of the Fluke 700P series is its exceptionally broad pressure range.

Fluke documentation for compatible calibrators specifies pressure measurement using 700Pxx modules from approximately:

2.5 mbar

up to:

700 bar / 10,000 psi. Fluke

This makes it possible to use one compatible Fluke calibrator with different modules for very different applications.

A laboratory might, for example, use one module for low differential-pressure transmitters and another module for high-pressure hydraulic instruments.

This modular approach reduces the need to purchase a completely separate calibrator for every pressure range.

Differential Pressure Modules

The Fluke 700P family includes differential-pressure modules for applications where the difference between two pressures must be measured.

A representative example is the Fluke 700P00, which has a range of:

1.000 inH₂O / 0.25 kPa.

This very low range is intended for applications involving extremely small pressure differences. The module uses dry air or non-corrosive gas on both pressure sides. Fluke

Other differential modules provide progressively higher pressure ranges, allowing the 700P concept to be used for applications such as low-pressure transmitters, filters, air-handling systems and other differential-pressure measurement tasks.

Wet Differential Pressure Modules

For applications requiring media compatibility beyond dry gas, Fluke also offers wet differential-pressure variants.

For example, the Fluke 700P23 covers:

5 psi / 34 kPa

and uses a high-pressure side compatible with 316 stainless steel, while the low side is intended for dry air or non-corrosive gas. Its reference uncertainty is specified as 0.025%, with a one-year total uncertainty of 0.050%. Fluke

The 700P22 similarly provides wet-side capability at a lower pressure range of 1 psi / 6.9 kPa. Fluke

These configurations provide more flexibility for process calibration applications involving liquids or pressure media compatible with the specified wetted materials.

Gauge Pressure Measurement

Gauge-pressure modules measure pressure relative to atmospheric pressure.

These are among the most commonly used configurations for industrial pressure calibration because many pressure gauges, transmitters and sensors are specified in gauge pressure.

The 700P family includes gauge-pressure modules spanning low pneumatic ranges through much higher industrial pressures.

For example, Fluke documentation for the 700P27Ex shows a 300 psi / 2.07 MPa range with 0.025% reference uncertainty and 0.050% total one-year uncertainty. Fluke

Higher-range modules extend the pressure measurement capability further.

High-Pressure Measurement up to 700 bar

The Fluke 700P concept also supports high-pressure calibration.

Fluke specifies that compatible calibrators can measure pressures up to:

10,000 psi

or approximately:

700 bar

when used with an appropriate 700Pxx pressure module. Fluke

For these high-pressure applications, a suitable external pressure source must be used.

The module measures the pressure but does not generate it.

A typical calibration system consists of:

Pressure Pump → Fluke 700P Module → Compatible Fluke Calibrator + Device Under Test

The pump generates the pressure, while the pressure module provides the reference pressure measurement.

Digital Communication

An important technical advantage of the Fluke 700P modules is digital communication with the connected calibrator.

The pressure sensor and calibration information are contained in the module, and the measured pressure is transmitted digitally to the calibrator.

europascal-hosted Fluke documentation specifically highlights that this digital communication helps avoid additional analog losses or errors between the pressure module and calibrator. europascal.de

This modular digital architecture allows pressure ranges to be changed quickly without changing the complete calibrator.

Temperature Compensation

The Fluke 700P modules incorporate internal temperature compensation.

For many individual modules, Fluke specifies compensation from:

0 °C to 50 °C. Fluke

This is particularly important for field calibration because pressure sensors can be sensitive to ambient temperature changes.

The total uncertainty specification for individual modules already accounts for the defined temperature behavior over the specified operating range.

Rugged Construction

The Fluke 700P series was designed for portable calibration work.

Fluke describes the modules as having a rugged urethane-molded housing designed to protect the sensor against rough handling and demanding environmental conditions. Fluke

This makes the pressure modules suitable for:

  • Maintenance departments
  • Field service
  • Process plants
  • Calibration workshops
  • Industrial production
  • Calibration laboratories

The module can be transported together with the handheld calibrator and connected only when the corresponding pressure range is required.

Compatible Fluke Calibrators

The Fluke 700P modules were designed for use with several Fluke process and pressure calibrators.

Official Fluke documentation identifies compatibility across instruments including families such as:

  • Fluke 717
  • Fluke 718
  • Fluke 719
  • Fluke 719Pro
  • Fluke 72X
  • Fluke 74X
  • Fluke 75X series. Fluke Content

For example, the Fluke 717 can measure pressure up to 10,000 psi / 700 bar using one of 29 Fluke 700Pxx pressure modules. Fluke

Compatibility should nevertheless always be checked for the specific calibrator and module combination.

Multiple Pressure Units

Pressure readings can be displayed directly through the connected calibrator.

Individual 700P product information states that pressure values can be displayed in multiple selectable engineering units. For example, the 700P00 product information supports pressure indication in the units configured in the connected calibrator. Fluke

This simplifies work with devices under test that use different pressure units and reduces the need for manual conversions.

Media Compatibility

Media compatibility varies significantly between individual Fluke 700P modules.

Fluke generally uses designations including:

Dry

for dry air or non-corrosive gases,

316 SS

for pressure media compatible with Type 316 stainless steel,

and on selected high-pressure or intrinsically safe modules:

C276

for media compatible with Hastelloy C276. Fluke

For this reason, the pressure medium should always be checked against the specification of the exact 700P model before connection.

Calibration and Traceability

Individual Fluke 700P modules are supplied with traceable calibration documentation. Fluke also specifies that certain modules can be calibrated using the Fluke 700PCK Pressure Calibration Kit, a PC and a suitable precision pressure source. Fluke

For laboratories requiring professional traceability and calibration services, europascal can support Fluke pressure equipment through the europascal Calibration Service.

Successor Fluke 750P Series

The Fluke 700P is an established pressure-module family, but availability now depends on the specific module. Fluke marks a number of older 700P and 700PEx variants as discontinued or reclassified and recommends the Fluke 750P Series Pressure Modules as the successor for those models. Fluke

The current 750P family follows the same modular concept and covers pressure ranges up to approximately 690 bar, with improved reference uncertainty down to 0.01% for selected modules. Fluke

For an existing calibration setup using 700P modules, the exact compatibility and appropriate replacement module should therefore be checked individually.

Why Choose the Fluke 700P?

The Fluke 700P provides a flexible way to expand a compatible Fluke calibrator across numerous pressure ranges and pressure types.

Instead of purchasing multiple complete pressure calibrators, users can select the appropriate pressure module for each task. The family covers everything from very small differential pressures to high-pressure measurements up to approximately 700 bar.

Digital communication between the pressure module and calibrator reduces additional analog measurement errors and provides convenient pressure indication directly on the calibrator display.

Internal temperature compensation, rugged housings and model-specific media compatibility make the modules suitable for both laboratory and field applications.

The availability of differential, wet differential, gauge, absolute, vacuum and high-pressure configurations means that the Fluke 700P family can support a wide variety of calibration workloads.

For existing Fluke 700P users, europascal can also assist with calibration, accessories and the transition to suitable current Fluke 750P pressure modules where older 700P models are no longer available.

Further pressure calibration equipment is available through the europascal pressure technology range.
