Additel ADT 920HV is a powerful high volume pneumatic pressure test pump designed for professional pressure calibration from 95% vacuum to 3,000 psi / 200 bar. The HV version combines the exceptional pneumatic pressure capability of the Additel 920 series with an increased 115 ml piston volume, making it particularly suitable for pressure instruments and calibration systems with larger internal volumes.

The Additel ADT 920HV uses air as its pressure medium and is completely manually operated. No electrical power or external compressed-air source is required. A long operating lever enables efficient pressure generation, while a high-quality screw press provides precise fine adjustment down to 10 Pa / 0.1 mbar.

One of the most important differences between the Additel ADT 920HV and the standard ADT 920 is the pump volume. While the standard ADT 920 provides a piston volume of 60 ml, the Additel ADT 920HV provides 115 ml. This additional capacity is particularly beneficial when connected devices, hoses or calibration systems contain larger gas volumes.

A specially designed shut-off valve supports excellent pressure stability during calibration. An integrated gas-liquid isolator helps protect the pump against moisture and contamination introduced by connected devices under test.

High Volume Pneumatic Pressure Generation

The defining feature of the Additel ADT 920HV is its increased piston volume.

The standard Additel ADT 920 provides:

60 ml piston volume.

The Additel ADT 920HV increases this to:

115 ml piston volume.

The additional volume provides greater capacity for applications where more air must be displaced to generate the required pressure.

This can be particularly beneficial when calibrating:

  • Pressure instruments with larger internal volumes
  • Large pressure gauges
  • Pressure transmitters with additional tubing
  • Test systems with longer hoses
  • Calibration manifolds
  • Multiple connected components
  • Pressure systems with increased dead volume

The higher-volume pump can reduce the amount of pumping required to pressurize larger pneumatic systems.

Pneumatic Pressure Generation up to 200 bar

The Additel ADT 920HV generates pressure from:

95% vacuum

to:

3,000 psi / 200 bar positive pressure.

This is an exceptionally broad range for a manually operated pneumatic calibration pump.

The ability to generate up to 200 bar using air is particularly valuable for instruments that should not come into contact with hydraulic oil.

The Additel ADT 920HV can therefore be used with:

  • Analog pressure gauges
  • Digital pressure gauges
  • Gas pressure gauges
  • Vacuum gauges
  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Pressure sensors
  • Pressure switches
  • Pneumatic process instruments
  • Precision pressure indicators

The combination of a 200 bar pressure range and 115 ml piston volume makes the HV version especially useful for demanding pneumatic calibration applications.

200 bar Pneumatic High Pressure

Generating very high pressures using gas is more demanding than generating the same pressure hydraulically.

The Additel 920 series uses a long operating lever and an efficient pressure generation mechanism.

According to Additel, the 920 series can reach:

3,000 psi / 200 bar in approximately 40 seconds.

The high-volume configuration of the Additel ADT 920HV provides additional capacity when larger test volumes are connected.

Once the approximate pressure has been generated, the integrated screw press is used for precise final adjustment.

Fine Adjustment Down to 10 Pa

Professional calibration requires accurate control of individual pressure points.

The Additel ADT 920HV incorporates a high-quality screw press with an adjustment resolution down to:

10 Pa

or:

0.1 mbar.

The operator first generates the approximate pressure using the main pump mechanism.

The screw press is then used to approach the desired calibration point precisely.

This combination of high-volume pressure generation and fine adjustment makes the ADT 920HV suitable for use with high-resolution reference pressure instruments.

Excellent Pressure Stability

Stable pressure is essential when comparing a device under test with a reference instrument.

The Additel ADT 920HV incorporates a specially designed shut-off valve to make the pressure as stable as possible during calibration.

This is particularly useful when working with:

  • Precision digital pressure gauges
  • Reference pressure gauges
  • Pressure calibrators
  • Pressure transmitters
  • High-resolution pressure sensors
  • Pressure switches

After reaching the desired pressure point, sufficient stabilization time should be allowed before recording calibration values.

Air as Pressure Medium

The Additel ADT 920HV uses:

air

as the pressure medium.

This is a major advantage when calibrating instruments that should remain free from hydraulic contamination.

At pressures approaching 200 bar, hydraulic pressure generation is common because liquids are much easier to compress and control at high pressure.

However, hydraulic oil can contaminate pneumatic pressure gauges, transmitters and sensors.

The ADT 920HV provides a pneumatic alternative for applications up to 200 bar.

For dedicated oil-free applications, Additel recommends contacting the manufacturer regarding a special configuration.

Vacuum Generation up to 95%

The Additel ADT 920HV is not limited to positive pressure.

The pump can also generate:

95% vacuum.

This enables one pressure source to cover vacuum, compound pressure and positive pressure applications.

Typical applications include:

  • Vacuum gauges
  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Vacuum transmitters
  • Vacuum switches
  • Pressure sensors

The combination of vacuum capability and positive pressure generation up to 200 bar provides exceptional flexibility.

Integrated Gas-Liquid Isolator

Devices under test can contain residual moisture or process contamination.

The Additel ADT 920HV therefore incorporates an integrated gas-liquid isolator.

This feature helps protect the internal pump mechanism against moisture and dirt introduced from connected devices.

Residual liquid entering the pump from a device under test can be pushed out and collected during pressure release.

This reduces contamination of the internal pneumatic components and helps minimize maintenance requirements.

Hand-Tight Quick Connectors

The Additel ADT 920HV incorporates two hand-tight quick connectors.

One is used for the:

reference pressure instrument

and the second for the:

device under test.

Compatible pressure instruments can be connected and disconnected without conventional wrenches or PTFE tape.

This simplifies instrument changes and can significantly reduce setup time during routine calibration work.

Multiple Pressure Connection Options

The Additel ADT 920HV is available with several pressure port configurations.

Available versions include:

  • 1/4 NPT female
  • 1/2 NPT female
  • 1/4 BSP female
  • 1/2 BSP female
  • M20 × 1.5 female

This enables the pressure pump to be configured for common international connection standards.

Additional adapters and fitting sets are available for other pressure connections.

Professional Comparison Calibration

The Additel ADT 920HV is designed as a professional comparison pressure test pump.

A typical calibration setup consists of:

Additel ADT 920HV + Reference Pressure Instrument + Device Under Test

The reference instrument and device under test are connected simultaneously to the pump.

The ADT 920HV generates the required pressure.

The operator then uses the screw press to precisely approach the required calibration point.

After sufficient stabilization, the indication of the device under test is compared with the traceable reference pressure.

The procedure can be repeated at several increasing and decreasing pressure points according to the selected calibration procedure.

Pressure Gauge Calibration

The Additel ADT 920HV is particularly suitable for pressure gauge calibration.

Typical devices include:

  • Mechanical pressure gauges
  • Digital pressure gauges
  • Gas pressure gauges
  • Vacuum gauges
  • Compound pressure gauges
  • Precision pressure indicators

The pump provides the pressure source but does not itself determine the traceable reference pressure.

It is therefore combined with an appropriate reference pressure gauge, pressure calibrator or pressure module.

The achievable measurement uncertainty depends on the reference instrument, environmental conditions, pressure stability, calibration procedure and other contributions included in the measurement uncertainty budget.

Pressure Transmitter Calibration

The Additel ADT 920HV can also provide the pneumatic pressure source required for pressure transmitter calibration.

The pump generates the input pressure while a suitable reference instrument measures the actual applied pressure.

The electrical output of the transmitter can simultaneously be measured using an appropriate process calibrator or precision multimeter.

For many industrial pressure transmitters, the standard output signal is:

4 to 20 mA.

Several increasing and decreasing pressure points can be generated to evaluate the relationship between applied pressure and electrical output.

Pressure Switch Testing

The Additel ADT 920HV can also be used as the pressure source for testing pressure switches.

Pressure is gradually increased until the switch changes state.

The pressure can then be reduced until the switch resets.

Combined with an appropriate reference instrument and switch detector, this allows determination of:

  • Switching pressure
  • Reset pressure
  • Switching hysteresis

The fine adjustment mechanism helps accurately approach the switching point.

Ideal for Larger Test Volumes

The main reason to select the Additel ADT 920HV instead of the standard ADT 920 is the increased pressure generation volume.

The 115 ml piston volume is especially useful when the connected calibration system has a relatively large internal volume.

A larger volume may result from:

  • Large devices under test
  • Long pressure hoses
  • Multiple adapters
  • Manifolds
  • Additional reference instruments
  • Large internal cavities
  • Complex calibration setups

With nearly twice the piston volume of the standard ADT 920, the ADT 920HV provides additional capacity for these applications.

Robust Construction

The Additel ADT 920HV is designed for demanding professional calibration applications.

The ram and adapters are manufactured from:

stainless steel.

The body combines:

stainless steel and aluminum.

Seal materials include:

Buna-N, F357, PTFE and copper alloy.

Additel uses anticorrosive and wear-resistant materials to improve reliability and durability.
